This provision would unleash funds and materials to create jobs and grow the economy. After the two-year suspension, capital gains rates would return to present levels but assets would be indexed permanently for any inflationary gains.

Reduce the Corporate Income Tax Rate: Reduce the corporate income tax rate, which discourages job creation and investment in the U.S., from 35% to 25%. For over a decade, the U.S. corporate tax rate has been 50% higher than the average among our counterparts in the industrialized world and nine key trading partners cut their rates during 2007. According to the Tax Foundation, the corporate tax quietly taps family pocketbooks for nearly $370 billion per year, over $3,000 per household, in the form of higher prices, lower wages and poorer return on investment.

UEFA has started a new year of Champions League, where 32 teams are once again competing for continental glory and domination. The respective clubs come from the far reaches of the continent, spreading from the cold terrain of Russia, to the warm beaches of Portugal, all aiming for the same thing. To force fans to cheer their team in a stadium named for a company that enabled the Holocaust is cruel. Its disgusting, its despicable, and it says exactly what the teams owners think of their fans. What does this say to any Giants or Jets fan, let alone a Jew, a Holocaust survivor, or the families of victims? If they go through with this, they will have to deal with the fallout and last I checked, New York didnt exactly have a tiny Jewish population. I would have a very hard time rooting for a team that calls Allianz Stadium home. And Im sure Im not alone.

Day One, we left the school on the bus around 10am and drove the 10-15km to Goolwa and visited the "barrage" where the Murray River empties into the sea. There is a big dam with a lock here to prevent the sea water from coming into the river. The river is SOOOO low due to the drought in the past year that it's more like mud flats than a river. It was sad to see the state of the river so bad that boats can no longer use that lock to go out to sea. Many boats are stranded in mud in the area since the water is so low. There has been alot of political rallying to get some of the locks upstream opened to get more water to the mouth area in Goolwa as the ecosystems are suffering and plants an animals are dying as their water habitats are dissapearing. We had read about it in the papers but I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. The Aboriginal worker from the school told us that when they built the bridge to Hindmarsh Island about 6-7 years ago, it was met with much resistance from the Aboriginal people. The government was told that if the bridge was built, then a curse would befall the river. Now they say this low river level and drought is the result of that curse. Could be.

Having just gone to ELUNA a little over a month ago, I wasn’t expecting a lot of new news from Ex Libris management. For the most part this turned out to be true. However, there was one bit of important news for Metalib customers. Metalib 4.3 will be the last version of Metalib as we know it. Metalib 5 (or whatever it will be called) will be a complete re-write. The underlying database and administration portions of the code may be based on Primo but that is still unclear. The user front-end (i.e. discovery layer) will use Primo. Apparently customers of Metalib will not be charged extra for the Primo front-end to Metalib. That is, of course, if they only use the Primo front-end for Metalib. I think using the Primo front end for Metalib like this makes sense for Ex Libris on a couple of accounts. First, they won’t have to develop a new Metalib front end. That means less development is needed and less products to support. Secondly, it will give customers a little taste of Primo. If customers that get this taste decide they like the Primo front end, they may purchase Primo for use with other products. In other words, Ex Libris saves costs and might get a few more sales of Primo out of it.
Most of the user sessions were pretty good. I’m not sure if I got anything specific to bring back home and implement however. One session I enjoyed focused on Metalib. It was interesting to learn about how others are working with Metalib and doing things like creating RSS feeds out of it. However, the approach they used appeared to require a fair bit of work to implement, and with Metalib going away as we know it, I am not sure it would be worth it for us to try to do this now.
I think my presentation on RSS A to V went well. I definitely find it harder to read European audiences than I do American ones. I am not sure if that is because I am from the USA or not, but I think it might not be based on a conversation with a Swede who has presented in the USA a number of times. He said (and I agree) that Americans are more likely to provide visual clues that they are “getting” a presentation by doing things like nodding their head. Overall, Europeans seem to be more reserved in that aspect and seem to more intently focus/concentrate on what you are saying without showing much emotion during a presentation. I am not sure why this is, maybe it is a cultural thing or maybe it is because for most of them, while excellent English speakers, English is not their first language so it takes more focus/concentration for them. For those of you in the Mid-Atlantic states, you can see an encore of my RSS presentation at the Ex Libris Mid-Atlantic Users Group (EMA) meeting in early October.
One topic I found very interesting was the presentation and ensuing discussion abut the future of e-book management. Representatives from ELUNA, IGeLU, and, I believe, Ex Libris created a report about what customers need to manage e-books. As my friend Zoe says the “first you have to acknowledge that an e-book is not always a book in form and then things just go downhill from there. :-)
One of the things they mentioned was the enormous challenges of managing e-books. Some of the challenges include: variety of formats, different purpose and use (textbook, research book), diversity of hardware/software, digital rights management (DRM), pricing models, licensing models (do you lease or have ownership), digital curation, metadata creation, and discovery and accessibility. With all of the different formats, e-versions, and sources of e-books, putting like items together is a problem. One of the recommendations is that libraries need a solution that provides sophisticated de-duplication in a FR
-ized manner. Libraries and library software vendors have there work cut out for them.
Three other things stood out to me about their recommendations. First, the task force felt that the ability to meta-search full content of e-books is not an immediate priority. Secondly they believe browsing is not required for e-book discovery. Thirdly, they recommend that the e-book management system needs to allow libraries to include not just licensed content, but freely available content as well if they wanted to.
Considering the challenges of getting the full-text content into a meta search tool (esp. with all of the possible sources of electronic texts) it would be a daunting task to have full text search in an e-books discovery application. With that in mind, I can understand this one – although I think it will be needed at some point (which the recommendation also implied). We have it for journal articles and patrons will come to expect it in e-books. Also, I just think that it would be really useful if you are looking for information about a specific aspect of a topic.
My initial reaction about the no need for browsing recommendation is that I do not agree. Yes, if students are looking for a specific book (esp. a text book), they don’t need to browse. However, when not having known items, I think a browse is very effective discovery method. The task force pointed out that some ILS don’t currently have a browse function. While this is true, that doesn’t mean it is good. Also, while you might not be able to browse the catalog, you can typically (at least in the USA) browse the shelves. The physical shelf browse-ability is obviously not available for e-books.

Fantasy sports, where fans select real athletes for make-believe teams, are exploding onto new platforms like smart phones and social networking sites, grabbing the attention of advertisers, wireless carriers and software companies.
And with a growing number of people playing casual games on the Internet and a largely untapped market outside the United States, analysts say the market for fantasy sports can only grow.
Among companies benefiting from this growth is 4Info, which alerts its users to things like sports scores and celebrity gossip via text message, with its revenue coming from advertisers.
Of the half a billion text messages that 4Info expects to send this year, as many as 15 percent will be to people seeking sports results to feed into their fantasy sports teams, said CEO Zaw Thet.
People have yet to realize the full potential of fantasy as it really comes to the cell phone and well see that over the course of the next several years, said Thet, whose company is backed by Gannett Co, General Electric Cos NBC Universal and venture capital firms.
While there is disagreement on the origin of fantasy sports, they came to wide attention with the publication of Rotisserie League Baseball in 1984, based on a league played by a group of New York media types and rules by magazine writer Daniel Okrent.

This means you have to really dig to find out credible information about the companies you are considering and are left going with your gut more often than not rather than relying on legitimate information that will be beneficial in your investment decisions.
Penny stocks are very lucrative to those who manage to pull off the investments and come out ahead. There are few instances in which there is little profit with the lions share of these investments yielding substantial profits for investors.

Damn Freaking hell tired today!!!

On the first day of work(thursday), I keyed in 25 records into the database out of the 50 records due to missing data.

On the 2nd day of work(friday), I keyed in 34 records(I think)into the database out of the extra 50 records.

They will keep giving u 50 records to key in everyday. Zzz. Then at the start of a new day, We have to check if there is any typo error.

This is what happened...
On the first day, there is a lot of ppl not filling up their email add and home no. So I was unable to continue typing. Then the 2nd day, my supervisor Woon Che updated a document called the FC-list. So we can get the missing data there, if not we have to call to get the data from the respective ppl. My 25 records with missing data I have passed to Woon Che at the end of first day.

Then 2nd day, We were asked to check each other error. I found damn a lot of error that kelly keyed in. WALAO!!! then I ask Woon Che can just edit the error like this??? He said just write on the form itself where is the error. After we finish checking, he told us we can just edit the error like what I asked earlier on. WALAO!!! If I were to change the error while checking, I would have finish editing. Plus Kelly keying in a lot of typo error. There is a lot to change. So Woon Che told me to edit her error and my 3 typo error. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. DAMN ANGRY NOW.... Actually not angry just that when everything adds up together it is like wth...

While he tell me to do all this, he pass my 25 records with missing data to kelly and I dunno what he tell her la. But I think is ask her help me key in or tell me to key in after I finished editing the errors. After I edit the errors, I continued keying in my another 50 records(given daily). So after I type finish the 34 records, I thought I have nothing to do. I went to double check if I got typo error anot.

After the end of the day, Woon Che took the 25 records (missing data) from Kelly and passed to me. Ok!! I have alot of records to enter on monday... FINE!!!

Today, I checked what Kelly keys in again!! I think lesser mistakes but confirm got more than my 3 error previously. 5 Newcomers are here to help too. Then got 2 guys key in 50 records vv fast. I think I heard Woon Che say something about me vv slow... WTF!!! I keyed in 58 records today leh and I started keying in at 1pm while the newcomers started keying in at 11am. Extra 1 hour leh. The extra 1 hour, I think I can key in another 10 more lor.

And the stupid kelly (better not let her see this haha) When we key in the data we need to like so call sign our name to show that this record is I type de. Then in the end we need to compile the names together. I think got a few missing data in the records but she put her name on the list. make the whole thing damn confusing. Then When the no. of data and the no. of name shown on the list does not tally, she keep asking me y i did not verify my name on some of the records. Most of it is her fault la come and blame me for what. Zzz. She is fast but lack of accuracy.

I might look slow but I am counted to be processing at high speed with high accuracy. If not for pushing all the load to me and all the blames.....
Now got a lot of stress when working still deciding to chiong the whole thing done and show them I not slow or dun care about WTF they think about me. Woon Che told me dun need to be stress just try your best to reach the 50 aim. Cos it is possible to reach.

Now whose fault do u think it is??? Me, Woon Che or Kelly. Add them up together makes me super ANGRY. If for the first few things I ok with it de. kk time to sleep tmr still need to go work.

Ugh...today was literally exhausting. First of all, the carpet guys were supposed to be done last night. So, by 1pm this afternoon, everything should have been back in order and ready for action except for my part of reassembling the pcs. How about...no.

The bank was a literal disaster when I got there. Suzanne and I were so shocked and she was so upset. I asked the guy for details and all he could tell me was that I would be able to start putting pcs back together in five minutes. So...Suzanne left.

I started working, getting everything together, which was difficult because stuff was everywhere, including the obstacle course that I had to walk from where I was told to store the pcs to the respective offices.

I was there for a little over 4 hours and when I left, the carpet guys were STILL there working. Suzanne said she wasnapos;t even going to come back in tonight, that she was just going in early in the morning.

Therefore, no one was there to help me test to make sure that the network was all right. Later on, they called to say someone had stopped in and checked and they couldnapos;t log on. My theory is that they are doing server maintenance or something since the bank is closed.

I feel bad that I wonapos;t really know for sure if thatapos;s the problem though, but I am slightly consoled by the fact that I went the extra miles and made sure all the phone lines were working and did some tests to specific numbers to make sure everything there was all right, and it was.

Also, I may have a potential web site customer from the phone guy who was there yesterday, and maybe even some more potential gigs working at Regions banks. He said that he is going to throw my name out to his people and see what happens. I thought that was really nice of him.

All in all...I am exhausted and sore. I enjoyed the work and I feel really accomplished. Now, I am just ready to do something relaxing like lay down and read. Hahaha

Thanks to everyone for their support and excitement this weekend. It was short-lived, but it was worth it

Since there are so many fine reviews here, Ill just add my two cents worth.
For $59.99 I purchased a refurbished model of the e280 and couldnt be happier. This model beats the iPod Nano 8GB on features and the sound is about equal with perhaps a slight nod to the Nano. The unit looks exactly like a brand new one with the exception of the word embossed on the back.
Features:
SanDisk doesnt require you to use any particular music source or program, so iTunes isnt an issue.
The Sansa includes an FM receiver the Nano doesnt.
The Sansa includes Video playback the Nano doesnt.
The Sansas screen is a bit larger and the picture quality is excellent.
The Sansa includes a record feature allowing recording of the FM signal or your voice (with its own microphone).
Sansa players include a microSD slot allowing for memory expansion. An extra $25 or so gives you an extra 8GB as of this writing.
Operation between main memory and the expansion slot is seamless (without alot of menus, dialogs, etc.).
The Sansa includes a built-in equalizer with presets (Classical, Jazz, Funk, Rock, etc.) and a custom feature allowing you to build your own sound, something the Nano doesnt offer.
Dowloading music is as easy as drag-and-drop. I use Windows Media Player version 10 (with XP) and have had no problems. Make sure your files are .wma lossless or you will get a Bad Track error message. This is found in the Options menu of the Media Player.
Im told the Sansa has a greater flexibility with play lists, especially coupled with Windows. Sub-menus are easily handled as is artist information as is cover art. Ive heard (but have no first-hand experience) that managing play lists with the Nano is more involved.
The included earbuds are actually decent, although Ive upgraded to the Sennheiser PX100 headphones. I recommend the Sennheisers, but its great that a refurbished product comes with a good pair of stock earbuds.
The owners manual is short, sweet, and very clear. But if you get stuck as I did with reformatting the refurbished units memory, the toll free customer support is very good, polite, and solved the issue.
Ive purchased some accessories for the e280 such as a car/wall charging kit, a clear crystal case, a leather carrying case for the player and the phones, and an FM transmitter that allows me to play the contents of the Sansa over my car stereo.
I also purchased a 2-year warranty for about $11. Refurbs come with a 90-day warranty, so 2-years plus 90 days is a bargain. The new units come with a 1-year warranty.
All in all, Ive got a great digital audio player with accessories for only a bit more than the cost of a new e280.

Blackjack is one of the most popular card games, in and out of the casino.  Many people are a bit intimidated by Blackjack, but they neednt be.  Once you get the basics of the game down you will find that you can become quite the adept player with just a bit of practice.
Blackjack Basics
Blackjack is actually quite easy to play when you know the basic rules.  The whole idea of the game is to obtain cards with a total point value as close to 21 without going over 21.  Face cards such as jacks, queens, and kings are all worth 10 points, aces are worth 11 or one, depending on which is more preferable to the player.  All other cards are wroth the value printed on their card.
When the player and the house tie, it is called a push and neither the player nor the house wins.  Ace and 10 (which is a blackjack) on the first two cards dealt in any game is an automatic win for the player at a 1.5 to 1 ratio, unless of course the house ties.  A player has the option of standing at any time.
When you Play Blackjack
The idea is that you need to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over 21, or busting, as it is called.  You bust any time your cards go over 21 and you lose automatically at that point.  The winner is the player who is closest to 21 and you simply reach 21 by adding up the totals of all of the cards in your hand.
The typical blackjack table will seat about six people, and during the game anywhere from six to eight decks of cards are used. The decks of cards are all shuffled together and they are usually dealt out of a box that contains all of the decks, known as a shoe.
Before you receive any cards you will need to place a bet.  Then, when you have placed your bet two cards will be dealt to you by the dealer face up.  The dealer will get one card that is face up and one that is face down.  Each player will then choose to stay, which means receiving no more cards or taking more cards to get to 21.  Players that do not bust at this point will wait until the dealers turn, when the dealer will turn over their face down card.  If the dealers hand totals more than 17 he must stay but if it is 16 or lower is must draw.
If you receive a total of 21 in your first two cards you automatically win the game and you will win one and a half times the best that you placed at the beginning of the game unless the dealer ties with you. When you get a total of 21 on your first two cards it is typically called “blackjack”.

'Angola 3' Black Panther conviction reversed after 35 years; attention now turns to 'Omaha Two' case

U.S. District Court Judge James J. Brady in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has ordered the state to either free or retry Albert Woodfox after almost three dozen years in solitary confinement. Woodfox, tried with two other co-defendants, was convicted for the 1972 murder of prison guard Brent Miller at Angola Prison where Woodfox was serving a sentence for armed robbery.

After a controversial trial and an even more disputed second trial in 1998 when he was retried following appeal of his first conviction, Woodfox may see freedom from the infamous prison where he has been held in virtual isolation for over three decades.

Woodfox had been active in a prison chapter of the Black Panthers in racially-charged Angola Prison, a vast plantation-style penitentiary in rural Louisiana. Following conviction for the stabbing murder of Miller, a life sentence was imposed and Angola officials decided that for security reasons Woodfox and fellow Panther Herman Wallace would be held in solitary confinement. The 6' by 9' isolation cells would become home, night and day, for thirty-five years.
Magistrate Docia L. Dalby has described the punishment meted out to the two Panthers as, "durations so far beyond the pale that this court has not found anything even remotely comparable in the annals of American jurisprudence."

Judge Brady, after a careful review of the trial record and recommendation of Magistrate Judge Christine Noland, determined that Woodfox had not received a fair trial; that his attorney failed to adequately represent him; and that the state's chief witness, Hezekiah Brown, had gotten a reduced sentence for naming Woodfox. Further, exculpatory information about the physical evidence in the case, bloodstains, was withheld from the jury.

While Woodfox waits for a prosecutor's decision on his future, another Black Panther in the Nebraska State Penitentiary, Ed Poindexter, waits for a ruling from the Nebraska Supreme Court on his request for a new trial. Poindexter and fellow Panther activist Mondo we Langa (formerly David Rice) were convicted in April 1971 for the bombing murder of Omaha police officer Larry Minard.

Unlike Woodfox, who was an inmate at the time of his alleged crime, Poindexter and Langa were free and officers in the Nebraska Committee to Combat Fascism and were Omaha's most vocal police critics. On August 17, 1970, police were lured to a vacant house investigating a report of a woman screaming when a bomb killed Minard and injured seven other police officers. Within two days of the bombing, J. Edgar Hoover, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who had targeted the Black Panthers, ordered Ivan Willard Conrad, director of the FBI national crime laboratory to withhold information that was not favorable to the prosecution of Poindexter and Langa for Minard's murder.

Hoover was at war with the Black Panthers and secretly directed a clandestine "no holds barred" operation, code-named COINTELPRO, to put the group out of existence. Using illegal tactics, FBI agents engaged in a nationwide campaign that encouraged violence, planted evidence, withheld evidence, obtained false arrests, and took a host of other measures that would later be denounced by the U.S. Senate Select Committee to Study Government Operations commonly known as the Church Committee.

At question in the Minard killing was the identity of the unknown caller who made the emergency call to police headquarters. Hidden for years behind a secrecy stamp, Omaha Asst. Chief of Police Glen W. Gates, in a confidential COINTELPRO memo to Hoover, asked the FBI to abandon the search for the killer who made the call because it might "prejudice the police murder trial" against Poindexter and Langa.

Ultimately a 15 year-old, Duane Peak, confessed to the crime and claimed he made the phone call and that Poindexter and Langa put him up to the murder. Peak's story falls apart if someone else made the deadly call. The tape recording, which was withheld from the jury that convicted the two Panther leaders, did not sound like Peak but rather resonated with the voice of an older man.

The tape was destroyed by local authorities after the trial only to have a duplicate recording emerge years later. The duplicate tape was subjected to modern vocal analysis in 2006. Expert Tom Owens has testified that the voice on the tape is not that of Peak, thus leaving an unidentified accomplice on the loose.

Poindexter is seeking a new trial over the withheld evidence and the Nebraska Supreme Court hears oral arguments in the case this week. No date has been set for a decision. Poindexter and Langa are serving life sentences at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. Both men deny any involvement in the crime.

Originally planned to break ground last March, a major retailer interested in the project fell through and construction on the building now hinges on finding one or two retailers for the space.  The developers are still excited about the project and expect to break ground next Spring.  The town center of St. Matthews is currently overrun by the massive Shelbyville Road and its mega-intersection with Chenoweth Lane, Westport Road, and Breckenridge Lane.  Several years back, a traffic circle with a possible monument in the center was proposed after a traffic study, but St. Matthews business feared the loss of eight parking spots and nixed the idea.  Despite the many urban buildings lining its streets, St. Matthews still must build on its pedestrian character, filling in parking lots and widening sidewalks.  The Village in St. Matthews project promises to propel this effort as it attempts to spread commercial activity from the corridors linear framework onto a more urban grid that allows for the dispursement of local traffic and enhancement of the pedestrian realm.  Hopefully well see bulldozers next year.

Well, I guess things were going too well so something had to happen. The Lord giveth and He taketh away. He giveth me a new colostomy device on Friday at Blanchard Valley Hospital, which promptly failed during the middle of my dialysis on Monday (today). The goddamned bag had no paste to seal the wafer to my skin around the stoma (intestinal opening) so the stool coming out pushed the wafer away from the skin allowing the shit to begin oozing out. I couldnapos;t move because I was still doing dialysis. I was taken off dialysis early and the EMS 911 van was called to haul me horizontally from the dialysis chair to a gurney then across the campus to the ER room for the 16th time in 14 months. AT the ER they cleaned up the failed colostomy and put on a new one--and this one, too, had no goddamned paste to seal the wafer. What the hell is it with nurses who do not have sealing paste that is vital to making a good seal?

After getting a new wafer and colostomy bag affixed, I went to lunch with E. At the local Chinese family buffet and ate only half of my meal. I am not eating all of my meals, usually less than half. I did the same thing when I went out for a fast-food dinner at Wendyapos;s where I ate only half of my burger and only 1/3 of my root beer.

I hope the rest of the week goes OK as I have an appointment to learn how to administer insulin to myself when my blood glucose spikes after chemotherapy.

How To Warm-up for Your Golf Game in 5 Minutes with Golf Fitness Stretches



It is well known that in every professional sport athletes perform a series of flexibility exercises and drills to prepare them to play a game. The game of golf is no different. Unseen to the general public, many PGA Tour players perform a series of golf flexibility exercises to prepare them to play golf. It is done prior to hitting the driving range or putting green. It is a process of getting the muscles and joints of body ready to swing a golf club. Most every golfer on the planet understands the benefit of a warm-up program to get the body ready to play golf or any sport for that matter. Unfortunately for us the time required to perform a comprehensive golf warm-up program with golf flexibility exercises is not reasonable. Not reasonable because of time restrictions on our busy lives.
For example, we set our tee time for Friday at 1:30. Our plan when we leave the house in the morning is "I will get to course at 1:00, hit a few putts, chip for 10 minutes, head to the range, and be at the first tee with a few minutes to spare". Unfortunately, our plans sometimes do not play out as we intended.
We get stuck with a client on the phone, a conference call runs long, we get stuck in traffic. Whatever the case may be we are caught rushing to the golf course, getting to the course with 10 minutes to spare, jump out of the car, tying our golf shoes, get to the first tee with 5 minutes to spare, haven't hit a shot or putted....Do I need to go on?
Probably not.
It is a situation that happens to us all, and I as am guilty of it as you. However as strong as I suggest performing a good warm-up, and putting yourself in the correct frame of mind for the round, life at times just does not allow us to do it.
What are we to do in such situations?
I first off would suggest not utilizing the John Daly "grip and rip it" motto if you get to the first tee without warming-up. I have seen this (myself included) lead to a myriad of problems from the get go.
I can remember a few years ago I took this approach and I think made a triple bogey on the first hole. My drive went left into the rough, second shot to the right, approach shot over the green into the bunker, bunker shot rolled 20 feet past the hole. Need I go on?
Let's just say I learned my lesson. First and foremost if you are caught in this type of situation lets not panic. Let's put a plan together to start the round out on the right foot and keep you in a positive frame of mind.
My first suggestion is not to rush and attempt to hit 3 putts, pull out driver take a few hacks, and then tee it up.
Lets take the 5 minutes we have and get the body warmed-up and ready to swing a golf club. How can we do this? Simply by putting together a series of golf stretches to "loosen" you up. Golf flexibility exercises will loosen the muscles and joints of your body. Preparing them to swing a golf club. They are simple to perform and can get your body and mind more ready to play than just a few practice swings with the driver. This will take a couple of minutes to perform, but it will help you get the body ready to swing the golf club.
Once we have got the body "loosened up" lets get the mind in the correct space. I have seen all too often the tempo of a swing is way out of whack when a golfer lacks the time to properly warm-up. Attempt to relax, take a few deep breaths, and get the body to slow down a little. This should definitely help create some better tempo in your swing from the start.
Also, take your time. Once it is your turn to hit, take a little extra time. Take a few extra practice swings, relax, find your tempo, and match your first swing to the tempo of your practice swing. This is a tip I learned from Dean Reinmuth (top 50 Golf Digest teaching pros).
If you are not comfortable over the ball, step away, take a series of practice swings until you find the "right" swing and then perform that same swing over the golf ball. It has done wonders for my game.
I would also suggest continuing to take extra time on every shot until you feel comfortable and have found your swing. This might not occur until the second or third hole, but it is okay. It allows you to relax, make a good swing, and make a good shot.
Finally, when you are rushed I think course management can really help. Think about it for a moment. Why not on the first tee pull out 3-wood instead of driver, even if it is a par five. Hit a nice shot into the fairway, lay-up, and play for par? Again, starting off with par or even bogey is a lot better than a double or triple, both for your scorecard and mental frame of mind.
So if you are rushing to the first tee to get your golf game going let's review the protocol. First and foremost lets be smart and utilize the time we have at hand. Lets take the 5 minutes we have to warm-up the body for the golf swing. We will do this through the implementation of a series of golf flexibility exercises. These golf exercises will get your muscles and joints ready to swing a golf club. Once the body is ready the next step is taking your time. Take a few extra practice swings with the golf club. This will allow you to find the tempo of your golf swing. Finally lets be smart with our course management skills. Think about what is the best golf shot to make and play within ourselves until our body and mind is ready to go.

Enough about that team from the other side of town, what I really want to talk about is the fact that my Chicago Cubs are in the postseason back-to-back years for the first time since 1908. Oh, yeah, that's also the last time they won the World Series. It's like they say, anybody can have a bad century. The past is the past, and in the present it would be hard to argue that the Cubs are not the best team in the National League. So what makes this team's chances better than the 99 before them? It all starts at home. The Cubs have often had a reputation of being road warriors, but this year the Cubs won 55 games at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. The Cubs will have home-field advantage throughout the NL playoffs, and that alone gives them a great chance to make it to the World Series for the first time since 1945. What's that? They got swept last year? Yeah, they did. The 2007 team had the worst record of all 8 playoff teams that year, and got to the playoffs by marching through a very weak NL Central Division. This year, the division was much improved, and not only did the Cubs win again, they won decisively.

5. Offseason acquisitions- In the offseason, Jim Hendry made spectacular moves in signing the Cubs' first Japanese player Kosuke Fukudome, and a great role player in Reed Johnson. Along with that move came the transitition of long-time Cub Kerry Wood into the closer role. While Kerry has developed a reputation for dramatics, he finished the regular season with 34 saves and a 3.26 ERA.

There is no doubt that this is the best chance for a Cubs championship any of us (under 100 years old) have ever seen. So what stands in their way? Here are the top 5 concerns for Cub fans.

5. Kosuke Fukudome- Kosuke, who had been a hit machine early in the year, really struggled towards the end. This puts Lou in the tough position of deciding whether to keep him in the line-up, or use one of the talented utility players on his bench in his place. 4. Streaky Hitting- The Cubs must avoid going on a cold streak with their bats. The team batting avg. is highest in decades, but overall they went through many slumps and hot streaks. Let's hope the bats are hot in October.

3. Middle Relief- In many ways, Marmol has become the premiere set-up man in the NL. However, he has shown that the pressure can sometimes get to him. Marmol, Howry, Wuertz, Cotts, and the rest of the gang must be able to bridge the gap between the starters and Kerry Wood. Otherwise, it could be a short postseason for the Cubbies.

2. Injuries- Alfonso Soriano has already served two stints on the DL this year, and Cubs can not afford to lose him in the playoffs. Also, starting pitchers Rich Harden and Carlos Zambrano have appeared fragile at times during the regular season. It is imperitive that the rotation remain intact if the Cubs are going to win the World Series.

She even watched the entire Gospel of John video and read along in her Bible. Please keep her in your prayers that she will grow into spiritual maturity.

Nam: (High school student in Lopburi) Nam, age 17, has been a Christian for 2 years now, and has obvious leadership and fruit of Christ's work in her life. Through the witness of her life and the change in her life since becoming a christian, her mother is also a christian now. Nam was a Bible Study leader for the first time at the camp. She said it was a great experience and very challenging. She was so excited to be able to serve God in this way. Her group had 1 other Christian and 3 non-Christians. She said they asked many tough questions, but she was still glad to be their leader. Some students even thought she was staff because of her maturity.

Kareon: Kareon, a missionary who volunteered at the camp, said, "I loved the atmosphere at the camp, with people from many countries (USA, England, Taiwan, China, Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand etc.) and the wide variety of activities. The blessing I got is to have many chances to sit and talk with many Christian and Non-Christian students about faith".

When it is all said and done, there will be plenty of blame to go around. Members of both parties will share responsibility for the failure of this bailout. Furthermore, the entire nature of the bailout is likely the biggest culprit. In other words, this was a bad bill, hastily done, and more than anything else, that's why it failed. Yet, in my opinion, the biggest villain without it even being close is Nancy Pelosi. Her behavior regarding this bill is an epitome of everything that is wrong in D.C. She played a duplicitous, cynical and hypocritical game full of political calculation and never once did she put the fate of the country above her own political power. That said here is how things broke down.

I was struck from the beginning at the behavior of the Democrats. While they have blamed President Bush for everything including this crisis, it was amazing how much deference they gave to the plan. Despite their bluster, from the beginning, they went along with most of its premise. They were always in favor with the basic philosophy of the bailout. It's like they blamed Bush for the crisis and then wanted to give him the authority to fix it. All their changes were either ridiculous, non sensical, or cosmetic. Trying to fund ACORN through the bailout was ridiculous. Attempting to put union reps on the board of failed companies was non sensical, and limiting CEO pay was cosmetic. That's about all they offered to the process.

Republicans, on the other hand, were against the plan on wholesale philosophical reasons from the beginning. They didn't believe that bailing out bad investments was the right way to fix things.

As such, by midweek the message from Capitol Hill was a very confused one. Depending on who you listened to a deal was imminent, dead on arrival, or a long way away. As such, John McCain made a bold move on Wednesday. He suspended his campaign and planned on returning to D.C. to help get a deal done. This appears to have frightened the Democratic caucus which was totally freaked out that he could get any credit for moving the process. This appears to have set the stage for a hastily made "deal" at about noon the next day. McCain hadn't arrived yet, and he was about to meet with the President in a bi partisan meeting hours later.

This deal didn't pass my sniff test from the beginning. Speaking for the Republicans was one
Robert Bennett of Utah. I am political astute enough to know that 1) I've never heard of him and 2)that means he can't be all that significant. If he was in the Republican leadership, I would have at least have known his name before he stood up to represent the Republicans in this deal. Hours later my suspicions were corrollated as one leader after another spoke out against the deal, Richard Shelby, John Boehner, and Mike Pence to name three.

Then, came the fateful meeting at the White House later in the day. Only those in the room know what happened. Here is what we do know, 1) it was contentious and confrontation, 2)Republicans who weren't included in prior discussions spoke out vigorously against the agreement and 3) and in many ways most important, Barack Obama was the de facto leader of the Democrats in the meeting. After this meeting, it was clear there was no deal. Yet, anyone that could read between the lines knew that there wasn't really a deal to begin with.

Now, the Democrats who failed to strike a deal prior to McCain's arrival began to pivot. They began to blame McCain for derailing a deal that was never really there. McCain, for his part, made a series of missteps that will likely cost him the Presidency. First, his campaign decided to get involved in partisan fingerpointing. His campaign put out a statement bemoaning the partisan nature of the process. He would have been much better served putting out a statement explaining that the legislative process is messy, lot's of heated things are said in the middle of battle, but that he was committed to seeing the process through and that he would spend the rest of the weekend on Capitol Hill making sure this deal was done.

Then, he was spooked by the Democrat's accusations and he stopped showing up on Capitol Hill. Instead, he made a series of phone calls from his office. Whatever he did to move the process along, no one will know it because he did at arm's length. Finally, at the debate, rather than jumping on the Republican's pro free market plan, he muddled through an answer about bi partisanship. Rather than hanging the bailout around Obama and the Democrats, he jumped aboard a bad policy full of bad politics.

Meanwhile, back on Capitol Hill, Democrat and Republican negotiators were busy NEGOTIATING. Meanwhile, Speaker Pelosi was busy poisoning the waters. Over the weekend, she accused the House Republicans of being unpatriotic for not showing up to negotiations earlier in the week. Of course, this was the height of hypocrisy and duplicitousness. The reason they didn't show up was because they weren't invited by Pelosi herself. Meanwhile, her caucas was engaged in heavy handed tactics. At one meeting, scheduled to be two Republicans and two Democrats along with Treasury and Bernanke, the Democrats sent in an army of nine to negotiate with only two Republicans.

By just after midnight, on Sunday morning, a deal had been struck, but this was tenuous at best. The philosophy of the bailout was still in place. Most of the rank and file Republicans were totally opposed to such a structure. Meanwhile, there was nothing in the deal for Main Street which would be a difficult sell for Democrat rank and file. Now it was Minority leader Boehner's turn to show a lack of leadership. In presenting this deal, he once referred to it as a "stinker", and to say that he tepidly supported it would be a massive understatement. With that "ringing" endorsement, the rank and file needed no more reason to oppose. Meanwhile, Mike Pence renewed his objection and made this statesmanlike statement.

Iniciam a tão conhecida “Clash Of Titans”, uma excursão pela Europa ao lado de grupos consagrados como Megadeth, Testament e Suicidal Tendecies. Aproveitaram para gravar o duplo ao vivo “Decade Of Agression” que é um registro perfeito de toda a energia que rola nos shows da banda.
Porém, as coisas com Dave não haviam melhorado e o baterista abandona o grupo em 1992, sendo substituído por Paul Bostaph, ex-Forbidden. Com uma técnica incrível, Paul surpreendeu a todos, acabando de vez com qualquer esperança de um retorno de Dave.
Com o novo integrante, lançaram, em 1994, “Divine Intervention” que contava com uma excelente produção, dando nítido destaque aos bumbos de Paul Bostaph.
Em 1996, gravaram um álbum de covers, homenageando as bandas punks que os influenciaram no início de carreira. “Undisputed Attitude” tem de tudo, DRI, T.S.O.L. e Minor Threat, só pra citar algumas. Paul Bostaph chegou a deixar o grupo após as gravações, sendo substituído por Jon Dette, ex-Testament, mas retornou um ano depois, a tempo de gravar, no começo de 1998, o novo álbum.
Intitualdo “Diabolous In Musica”, o disco causou certa polêmica. As guitarras estavam quase dois tons abaixo do normal e eles foram acusados de estarem entrando na onda do “Nu-Metal”. A verdade, é que assim como provaram em “South Of Heaven”, Tom Araya e companhia podem soar pesados sem serem rápidos o tempo todo.
Já em 2001, “God Hates Us All”, trouxe de volta os antigos elementos do Slayer e mesmo mantendo as afinações baixas e as experimentações de timbres e efeitos, o grupo continua soando mais matador do que nunca. No ano seguinte, uma grande surpresa para os fãs: o baterista Dave Lombardo volta ao grupo e continua a turnê desse disco. Uma das últimas apresentações da banda ao lado de Bostaph foi gravada, dando origem ao DVD “War At The Warfield”, lançado somente em 2003. No mesmo ano, o Slayer lança o ‘box-set’ “Soundtrack to the Apocalypse”.
Um ano depois, o conjunto grava um show realizado no Augusta Civic Center, para o lançamento de mais um DVD. O clima de nostalgia em “Still Reigning” era o maior possível: além da banda retomar sua formação original, o clássico “Reign in Blodd” fora tocado na íntegra, com o visual de palco da época da turnê do álbum, lançado em 1986, adotado para o show.
Produzido por Rick Rubin, “Christ Illusion” é lançado no dia 8 de Augusto de 2006. Desde as letras, tratando de temas políticos e anti-clericais, até sua capa polêmica, só uma coisa pode ser atestada: o Slayer está de volta.

If I had to choose a division with the most potential, it would have to be the Southeast.  Looking around the division there is no shortage of young, extremely athletic talent from Dwight Howard to Josh Smith, Gerald Wallace to Michael Beasley, and lets not forget Chris Quinn… Just joking.  Despite the amount of raw talent and potential, I still think there are one or two teams in the division that are at least one year away from really contending.
Atlanta Hawks
After the Hawks stab at the Celtics in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs just last year, one would think they would be primed to go further.  I would have to agree.  Some skeptics would argue that the loss of Josh Childress overseas will hurt their depth, but I feel they reloaded nicely with the addition of Maurice Evans, who will provide a similar enthusiasm off the bench.  Their starting rotation is pretty solid from one to five.  Emerging star Josh Smith will have a great impact on the season and is my prediction for a spot on the all-star roster as well as defensive player of the year.  The Hawks will return to the playoffs.
Charlotte Bobcats
So much talent, so few wins.  I know the Bobcats have had trouble staying healthy in the past, but push has to come to shove at some point with their current “on-court personnel”.  If this group of players is going to have a breakout season, this has to be it.  Emeka Okafor will be healthy.  Gerald Wallace will be at the top of his game (even offensively).  Raymond Felton should have enough experience under his belt to be ready to lead a team, and maybe most importantly, Adam Morrison and moustache should be ready to go.  Just kidding.  All joking aside, the Bobcats, whether they play well or not this year are just in a bad situation with all teams surrounding them on the up and up.  Expect the Bobcats to be watching the playoffs from home again despite their growth.
Miami Heat
As a team of gross ups and downs, the Miami Heat have given fans abandonment issues after they completely disappeared last year from their status as top tier in the NBA.  Although, after an incredible Olympic stint for Dwayne Wade and incoming superstar to be, Michael Beasley, the Heat are moving in the right direction.  They have gotten rid of a few cancers recently in the form of Jason Williams (now retired) and Ricky Davis.  If Shawn Marion plays the way he can (as a perennial defensive stud), the Heat will be just fine.  I think Dwayne Wade has the capacity to lead this team to the playoffs again, Shaq or not.  Although, it would be huge if the Heat can make a decent signing this offseason in the form of a point guard and a competent big man.  It will be interesting to see how that team melds together, but I expect they have a great chance to be in the playoffs.
Orlando Magic
One of the more promising teams in the NBA are the Orlando Magic.  They have made the playoffs the last couple of seasons but making no more noise than a pebble in the ocean.  The Magic have made some key offseason moves in drafting Courtney Lee and signing Mikael Pietrus.  They needed help defensively and got it.  Lee will prove to be a huge asset to the team, as he is as, if not more, NBA ready as any player in this draft.  Both Pietrus and Lee can run the court and have decent strokes from long-range.  As a fan of the NBA, I would still like to see Dwight Howard become more than just a dominating offensive force from three feet outside of the basket.  It would be nice to see a mid-range jump shot and improved free throw shooting.  Regardless, the Magic are in a good spot and should be one of the top four, or so, teams in the East this season.  The Magic can make a push toward at least a conference championship if they can stay healthy, and if Hedo Turkoglu plays anything like last season, they will be in great shape.
Washington Wizards
There is a problem with a few NBA teams that will surface in the next year, and the Washington Wizards are poster children for this malady.  The Wizards are falling behind the progression curve of NBA teams, which will eventually bring the consequences of having to rebuild.  They have a guard-dominated lineup that boasts almost no inside scoring.  The Wizards just resigned Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison, further proving they are stuck in their ways.  I just don’t see how the Wizards have improved in the least or how they can expect to get past the first round of the playoffs, if they even get there this season.  I almost forgot, don’t expect to see Arenas until after the all-star break.  Must be nice to have a huge contract while just hanging out.  It seems like he is slowly going back to being a zero.  I’m going to go out on a mildly thin limb and say the Wizards aren’t going to be in the playoffs, too much progression surrounding them.
