Taylor made Golf Clubs manufacture requires an extensive knowlege of design human factors and a commitment to excellence. Strict tolerances are placed on each and every product throughout the manufacturing process to ensure brand dominance remains. I for one am extremely happy to just take advantage of the end results without needing to know how the darn things are made.
From humble beginnings has come a great golf innovator in Taylormade golf. Within the golf environment admas golf are known for their high quality golf clubs and accessories. Industry forefront computer aided design and product simulations all add a considerable benefit to eventual product characteristics for golfers.
They have definitely proven to be a real winner on the market front with a huge buyer uptake for the Taylor made Golf Clubs. Tumultuous applause for the manufacturer is warranted for their release of such a standout product. A hell of a lot of thought has gone into producing these gems and they perform sensationally.
Tour design and shape incorporate Low center of gravity higher MOI and less spin than conventional ironss delivering ideal launch conditions and playability for mid to high swing speeds and the aspirational golfer. Taylor made Golf Clubs design steps through each progressive iron for the 5 - 7 irons providing a very subtle centre of gravity position movement. CGB RAC R7 Burner. Cavity back playability and performance are enlisted with the design of the 8 - pw irons to complete the set.
Taylor made Golf Clubs made a spectacular debut on their first hole producing a birdie for my mates to dwell on. The skinners group will have to keep paying for some time to come until the handicapper sorts out my new found proficiency. I had a tendency to hit nearly all of my shots high wide and with plent of purchase but luckily the ugliness has now been somewhat abated.
I just want to have a great set of irons without having to understand all of the technical requirements that may suit my game. Thanks to TaylorMade golf nailing the design of the hybrid iron I really have disovered another gear with my longer approaches. Taylor made Golf Clubs has releived me of the burden of worrying about all of the technology I should have and allows me to just get on with the game.
Be reasonable with yourself when you are assessing your own skill level before purchasing any sporting equipment. If you dont follow this guideline then you may regret your ill fitting equipment. Who doesnt want to have the best kit around with the best suitability for most players so it comes as no surprise that there is a huge demand for the Taylor made Golf Clubs.
If you have a good trusted suppliler that you are happy with then stick with them to avoid geting burnt. If you've ever heard the expression "the devil is in the details," you can probably already guess how it relates to today's lesson. The bulk of the work you do as an Ebay seller will be easy and repetitive, but it is the minor details that will make or break your business. In today's lesson, I am going to talk about the single most important "detail" - and why you absolutely must pay attention to it if you want to be successful selling on Ebay.
At some point in your career as an Ebay seller, you probably stumbled over two types of sellers that completely bewildered you: the first type was selling items for absolutely stupid prices--so low that they couldn't possibly be making a profit; in contrast, the second type was selling items for unbelievably high prices. . .and somehow getting bids.
The second type of seller knows that the devil is the details--the details being your auction title and description.
Knowing this seemingly insignificant piece of information and putting it into practice makes all the difference in the world. It can literally mean the difference between 25 and 250 auction views.
The amount of traffic you receive on Ebay is dependent on the keyphrases and keywords you use to form your title and the keywords and keyphrases you pepper throughout your description.
While there are a number of ways to navigate Ebay, almost every visitor uses either "titles" or "titles and descriptions" to search for auctions. If they search for "green ipod mini" and your title or description includes "green ipod mini," your search result will be displayed.
When most sellers create auctions, they concentrate on describing the item or converting visitors with powerful sales copy; however, what they don't do-- almost without exception--is add traffic-pulling keywords to their titles and pepper keywords throughout their descriptions.
In fact, some sellers neglect this to such a great extent that they misspell important keywords in their titles and description. This is the first type of seller we talked about. As a result, they attract no buyers-- with the possible exception of people who scour misspelled auctions to purchase underbid items that are unintentionally"hidden."
. . .so don't fool around when you create your auction title and description! You now know better.
This is the single most important determinant of the amount and quality of traffic you receive as a seller on Ebay. Use it, and you will immediately attract more interested buyers; ignore it, and you voluntarily give interested buyers to the seller who is already selling the same products as you for twice the price.

Yes, it is very late here on the east coast, but just finished watching the Red Sox go on to beat the Angels in Game 1 of the ALDS...I think some things never change. While the postseason is just out of the gates, I would to take a look back at the '08 regular season and see what teams are heading in the right direction and which teams took a step backwards this year...
AL East
Tampa Bay: Winners
Reasoning: Development of superb young talent, and a very talented young pitching staff
Bright Spot: Evan Longoria (.272 BA, 27 HRS, 85 RBI, .343 OPB)
Boston: Winners
Reasoning: Good mix of young and veteran talent, established pitching staff
Bright Spot: Jon Lester (16-6, 3.21 ERA, 152 Ks)
New York: Losers
Reasoning: Injuries and lack of effective starting pitching
Bright Spot: Mike Mussina (20-9, 3.37 ERA, 150 Ks)
Toronto: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of a potent offense
Bright Spot: Team ERA (3.49; best in AL)
Baltimore: Losers
Reasoning: Weak pitching staff
Bright Spot: Aubrey Huff (.304 BA, 32 HRS, 108 RBI, .360 OBP)
The AL East's breakdown comes with a stigma attached to it just because of the names in the league. Tampa Bay is this year's cinderella hoping that the ball goes all the way to the World Series. Boston is a winner for being able to manage major injury issues whilst still making the playoffs, and this is the exact opposite reason why the Yankees are losers. Toronto is in the loser category mainly for a team that was supposed to contend, but winds up fourth in its' own division, and Baltimore just needs to chuck the '08 season out the window and start over!
AL Central
Chicago: Winners
Reasoning: Power baseball (235 team HRS; 1st in AL)
Bright Spot: Carlos Quentin (.288 BA, 36 HRS, 100 RBI, .394 OBP)
Minnesota: Winners
Reasoning: Solid hitting
Bright Spot: Justin Morneau (.300 BA, 23 HRS, 129 RBI, .374 OBP)
Cleveland: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production
Bright Spot: Cliff Lee (22-3, 2.54 ERA, 170 Ks)
Kansas City: Winners
Reasoning: Developing young talent
Bright Spot: Joakim Soria (2-3, 1.60 ERA, 42 SVs, 66 Ks)
Detroit: Losers
Reasoning: Inefficient pitching staff
Bright Spot: Miguel Caberea (.292 BA, 37 HRS, 127 RBI, .349 OBP)
The AL Central didn't quite go as planned when the analysts looked at the league during spring training. This was supposed to be a race between Cleveland and Detroit, not Chicago and Minnesota. For that reason, Chicago and Minnesota both receive winners marks as this division needed more than 162 games to decide it between teams that weren't suppose to be there. It is for that same reason that Cleveland and Detroit get losers marks because they both had such high expectations for when the season started that when it actually started quickly fizzled away. Kansas City gets a winners mark because they are starting to develop some young talent, and they didn't finish in the AL Central basement (gotta start somewhere people!).
AL West
Los Angeles: Winners
Reasoning: Excellent pitching staff and good mix of young and veteran talent
Bright Spot: Francisco Rodriguez (2-3, 2.24 ERA, 62 SVs, 77 Ks)
Texas: Winners
Reasoning: Excellent hitting (.283 BA; 1st in AL)
Bright Spot: Josh Hamilton (.304 BA, 32 HRS, 130 RBI, .371 OBP)
Oakland: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production
Bright Spot: Justin Duchscherer (10-8, 2.54 ERA, 95 Ks)
Seattle: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of hitting and pitching
Bright Spot: Raul Ibanez (.293 BA, 23 HRS, 110 RBI, .358 OBP)
The AL West was good and decided long before the waning days in September. Los Angeles claims a winners mark by being the only team in baseball this year to earn the 100 win mark. Texas claims a winners mark with putting together a talented group of hitters that only with a little pitching help could become very dangerous in the American League. The A's receive the losers mark because most of their players couldn't hit the ball if it was off a tee. The Mariners earn the losers mark by claiming the title of worse American League team with a mark of 61-101.
NL East
Philadelphia: Winners
Reasoning: Power hitting and depth relief pitching
Bright Spot: Brad Lidge (2-0, 1.95 ERA, 41 SVs, 92 Ks)
New York: Losers
Reasoning: Poor bullpen production
Bright Spot: Johan Santana (16-7, 2.53 ERA, 206 Ks)
Florida: Winners
Reasoning: Power hitting (208 HRS, 2nd in NL)
Bright Spot: Ricky Nolasco (15-8, 3.52 ERA, 186 Ks)
Atlanta: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of depth at pitching, poor bullpen
Bright Spot: Chipper Jones (.364 BA, 22 HRS, 75 RBI, .470 OBP)
Washington: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of pitching and hitting
Bright Spot: Cristian Guzman (.316 BA, 9 HRS, 55 RBI, .345 OBP)
The NL East was again supposed to be going to the Metropolitians of New York, but for a second year Philly spoiled their claims to the crown. Philadelphia gets the nod for the winners designation for convincingly taking the NL East. The Mets of course, earn the losers mark for again crashing and burning not only for the division, but the wild card as well. Florida earns a winners mark because after seemingly losing their top pitcher and hitter they still manage to finish seven games above .500. Atlanta gets the losers rank because they were not able to sustain all the pitching woes, and if it wasn't for Chipper who knows how many games they would have lost. Finally, Washington gets the losers mark because they had the worse record in baseball this year with a 59-102 mark.
NL Central
Chicago: Winners
Reasoning: Solid hitting, good starting pitching, and depth in the bullpen
Bright Spot: Geovany Soto (.285 BA, 23 HRS, 86 RBI, .364 OBP)
Milwaukee: Winners
Reasoning: Solid hitting and good starting pitching
Bright Spot: C.C. Sabathia (11-2, 1.65 ERA, 128 Ks; whilst on Milwaukee)
Houston: Winners
Reasoning: Productive hitting
Bright Spot: Lance Berkman (.312 BA, 29 HRS, 106 RBI, .420 OBP)
St. Louis: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of starting pitching and an inefficient bullpen
Bright Spot: Ryan Ludwick (.299 BA, 37 HRS, 113 RBI, .375 OBP)
Cincinnati: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production and poor pitching depth
Bright Spot: Edinson Volquez (17-6, 3.21 ERA, 206 Ks)
Pittsburgh: Losers
Reasoning: Poor starting pitching and an nonproductive bullpen
Bright Spot: Nate McLouth (.276 BA, 26 HRS, 94 RBI, .356 OBP)
The NL Central was at times a four team race with Chicago, Milwaukee, Houston, and St. Louis all bidding to win the division. Chicago earns the winners mark for taking the NL Central crown by 7.5 games. Milwaukee also receives the nod of winners marks for edging the Mets and taking the wild card, and playing in the postseason for the first time since 1982. Houston also claims a winning outcome by their level of play at the end of the year. If they are able to play like that for much of the '09 season they will be extremely tough to beat. St. Louis garnishes the losers mark only because in recent memory it is hard to recall the Cardinals not near the top, let alone fourth in the division. By the way, Pujols wasn't the Bright Spot, only because even though he put up excellent numbers it has come to be expected of him, and for Ludwick to almost match his production slips him into that honor. Cincinnati has a losers rank because they have so much raw young talent, but they can't seem to find a way to harness it for a productive season. Pittsburgh earns the losers tag because not only were they bad, but what little they had at the beginning of the year they traded all away during the season.
NL West
Los Angeles: Winners
Reasoning: Excellent hitting and depth in the bullpen
Bright Spot: Manny Ramirez (.396 BA, 17 HRS, 53 RBI, .489 OBP; whilst on Los Angeles)
Arizona: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production
Bright Spot: Brandon Webb (22-7, 3.30 ERA, 183 Ks)
Colorado: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of starting pitching and an inefficient bullpen
Bright Spot: Matt Holliday (.321 BA, 25 HRS, 88 RBI, .409 OBP)
San Francisco: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production, lack of starting pitching, nonproductive bullpen
Bright Spot: Tim Lincecum (18-5, 2.62 ERA, 265 Ks)
San Diego: Losers
Reasoning: Lack of offensive production and lack of starting pitching
Bright Spot: Adrian Gonzalez (.279 BA, 36 HRS, 119 RBI, .361 OBP)
The NL West was by far the worse division in all of baseball, and was also the most disappointing in all of baseball. After the '07 season, which produced Arizona with the best record in the NL, Colorado and San Diego fighting in a one game playoff to make a trip to the postseason, and a Los Angeles team that was right in the playoff hunt until the very end, to have Manny Ramirez reviving the Dodgers and the rest of the league being just absolutely abyssmal?! Well, Los Angeles with the off the charts Manny Ramirez hitting machine gets the winners rank for a team finally stepping out of the ashes to claim the NL West. Arizona receives a losers mark because this team just had the bottom dropped out on them when the playoff push came into frame. Colorado has the losers brand because this team is essentially made up of the same cast of characters that went to the World Series last year. I was tempted to put San Francisco into the winners column because I knew they would be bad, but a team that has 90 losses needs a better excuse than just that! The San Diego Padres fall into the losing ranks because it seems the phantom tag at home in the one game playoff has haunted them their entire '08 season. Is this a new curse? For Padres sakes, let us hope that '09 dispells those rumors!
Well, if you made it through the whole thing congrats! As for me, I will be taking the rest of the week and weekend off most likely, but not to worry...my football outlook as well as a deeper October baseball look will be here within the next week of action.

The long wait is finally over. Later today, the new look Rangers minus former captain Jaromir Jagr take to the ice for a two-game series against the Lightning over in Prague. No matter what NHL brass says, it has to be bittersweet for them and especially Czech fans that No.68 wont be in a Ranger sweater returning to his home land for the first ever NHL regular season games over in Europe.
While new team captain Chris Drury along with alternates Scott Gomez and Markus Naslund prepare to take the ice in Prague, Sidney Crosby and the Penguins will be meeting the Senators in a two-game series over in Stockholm, Sweden.
So, the Rangers and Bolts wont be the only teams representing the NHL kicking off a much anticipated 2008-09 season a few days early.
The big questions surrounding Tom Renneys club is how quickly key additions Naslund, Nikolai Zherdev and Wade Redden adjust to their new surroundings. Can they help pickup the tempo transitioning from a deliberate East/West game to a more fluid North American style contingent on seriously competing for a Stanley Cup?
Well have to patiently wait and see. For now, lets take a glance at how the Blueshirts roster shapes up.
FORWARDS: Gone are Jagr, fellow Czech Martin Straka and veteran Brendan Shanahan, who remains in limbo hoping to play another season. Its still possible he could wind up either here or elsewhere on a contender. Also out is key agitator Sean Avery (signed w/ Stars) along with antagonist Ryan Hollweg (traded to Leafs).
Can switching conferences spark Naslunds game? How well will Russian enigma Zherdev play under Renney? The good news is his best season came under Ken Hitchcock. The bad is it was in Columbus where there was no real pressure. Expectations are much higher here.
Aaron Voros looks to be a good addition capable of providing energy and physicality but wont finish as much as Avery. Dan Fritsche and Fredrik Sjostrom are speedy complementary fourth line wings who bring solid work ethic. Patrick Rissmiller is basically another Blair Betts who can kill penalties but now looks like overkill with former No.1 pick Lauri Korpikoski proving hes ready. Colton Orrs one of the best heavyweights in the league who Renney can now insert when necessary instead of playing him every night.
Figure Drury and Gomez to be better than their first seasons in New York where it took them time to get acclimated to Renneys system. Shifting Drury to Gomez wing could pay dividends with sophomore Brandon Dubinsky continuing to impress to the point where hell start as the teams second line center. If the lines get out slow, the Ranger coach can always move Drury back to center and shift Dubinsky to the third line.
Much depends on second-year wingers Ryan Callahan and Nigel Dawes, who both are being asked to score more goals. Callahan is a very smart two-way threat who is a good shorthanded player that works diligently on the forecheck taking the body. He looked good in preseason. The same cant be said for Dawes, who made strides last season becoming a trusted regular in Renneys rotation. He has excellent hands and is an underrated passer capable of transitioning from defense to offense. Hes scored at every level and his 14 goals in limited duty gave every indication hes fully capable.
On such a crowded roster, where does Petr Prucha fit? The former 30-goal scorer has seen his production drop the past two campaigns from 22 to only seven in 2007-08. Part of it was due to a diminished role and less ice-time especially on power plays. It would be wise for Renney to allot the hard working 26 year-old Czech some time. Hes always been willing to pay a price which is why fans love him frequently chanting,
If Prucha gets a fair chance, he can still be an important player on a team which must fully emphasize scoring by committee.
DEFENSE: No longer around are Fedor Tyutin (traded to Jackets), Christian Backman (traded to Jackets), whipping boy Marek Malik (unsigned FA), popular extra Jason Strudwick (signed w/ Oilers) and Thomas Pock (claimed by Islanders).
So, no Malik means they automatically upgraded. Not necessarily. Much will depend on how well Wade Redden applies himself after such a huge contract rewarded to him by his biggest fan Glen Sather. The former Senator certainly is capable of logging the big minutes required possessing an excellent first pass, solid wheels and a good shot from the point which should bolster the power play.
But is the 31 year-old in decline after posting a second straight season under 40 points or can he get back to an All-Star level which saw him achieve career bests in assists (40), points (50) and plus/minus (35) in just 65 contests with Ottawa in 2005-06 helping them reach the Stanley Cup Final? Thus far, hes emphasized team success to take pressure off which is admirable. However, you know the first mistake he makes that leads to a goal against will result in boos and questions as to whether he can handle New York.
After struggling much of exhibition with Dan Girardi, he was tried with Michal Rozsival, who also got a big contract from Sather. The good news is Redden performed better. The bad is that Rozsival looked shaky which cant happen if the revamped blueline is to have success. Both will be asked to log big minutes and man the points on the man-advantage.
Figure more responsibility to be given to budding second-year defenseman Marc Staal, who really gained Renneys trust last season and emerged into one of the clubs best defenders. The Rangers should have a lot of confidence in the 21 year-old former No.1 pick who never seems overmatched and could very well be the next great defenseman for the club.
Staal will work with the steady Girardi, who does many things well including taking the body and jumping up in the play where he can get off a shot that saw him score 10 goals last season after none his rookie year. The 24 year-old find is a clean player who doesnt take many penalties (14 PIM) and moves the puck efficiently. If the young tandem meshes, they could just become Renneys shutdown pair.
Meanwhile, 29 year-old Ridgewood, New Jersey native Paul Mara wanted to return taking less because he feels the team can win the Cup. Hes developed into a steady puckmoving D who doesnt do too much to standout which is the kind of quality you want in a third pair D. Hell be teamed with former Sabre Dmitri Kalinin, who could become the new Malik.
The 28 year-old Russian didnt fare well in preseason looking shaky. He needs to keep it simple in his end or fans might start wondering why the team added him. Especially with both cheaper options Corey Potter and Brian Fahey, who were reassigned to Hartford having solid camps.
Its also worth noting that Kalinin got into only 46 games last season following 2006-07, which saw him appear in a career high 82 with 29 points and a career best plus-19 rating. In two of the last three seasons, hes missed 63 games.
For the time being, the Rangers will go with only six defensemen. The question is for how long?
GOALIES: The Rangers will only go as far as No.1 goalie Henrik Lundqvist takes them. The 26 year-old Swede was up and down in the first half last season but overcame that to appear in a career high 72 games posting a 37-24-10 record with career bests in GAA (2.23) and shutouts (10), pacing the league to get nominated for a third straight Vezina.
King Henrik clearly is the man in New York and must continue to own the net keeping his team in games when they arent finishing. It figures to take time before the offense clicks. So, it will fall on the popular Swedes shoulders to help the team get out of the gate quicker than the past two seasons which saw them have to go on a tear just to qualify for the postseason.
The question is is he still feeling lingering effects from a collision with the Pens Evgeni Malkin? His knees have become an issue. If its serious, it could prove costly to the Rangers chances.
Stephen Valiquette is a solid veteran backup whos extremely popular with teammates, staff and beat writers for his calm easy going demeanor. The 31 year-old Toronto native was excellent in relief of Lundqvist winning half of his 10 starts while posting a 2.19 GAA, .916 save percentage along with his first two career shutouts.
What more can you ask for from your second goalie? He was a little rusty in preseason but expect him to rise up to the challenge when called upon.
COACHING: Tom Renney is a very respectable classy coach who communicates well with his team and the media which makes him an extremely popular figure. When it looked like the team was in trouble last year along with his job, he pulled them together and guided the club to its third consecutive postseason appearance.
Avenging a first round sweep to the Devils was sweet but he and the club still failed against a very formidable Pens team in the second round losing there a second straight year. Now, he has a differently assembled team and must make it work or the rumblings will start.
Theres going to be more pressure on Renney to make it work. If things get tough early, he must remain grounded and use that same approach Yankee fans grew accustomed to with Joe Torre.
His staff of Perry Pearn, Mike Pelino and Benoit Allaire are solid at breaking down whats wrong and helping the team prepare. Since Renney got to choose his own staff a couple of years ago, they always have worked well and seem to be on the same page which is a huge plus for a team thats covered in New York.
Theyre well equipped and good at adjusting when things arent working.
ANALYSIS: Its very hard to gauge how well this team will perform. Though Im not overly optimistic about the roster changes, Im still a firm believer in what they have up front and in net. Quite frankly, the Rangers possess arguably the best centers from top to bottom in the league. As long as Dubinsky doesnt suffer from a sophomore slump and Korpikoski continues to prove he belongs, it provides the Blueshirts with an advantage which they should have in many match-ups.
Much has been said about Zherdev and Naslund replacing Jagr and the loss of Avery. However, they cant worry about whos no longer around and must just play their games. The leadership of Drury and Gomez should help get them on the same page. Drurys the one being overlooked and I just cant see a team led by him missing the postseason.
Neither can I see them suffering with Lundqvist in net. Unless his knee problems are worse than expected, hes the second best goalie in the league.
Even in a tough division, dont bet against them.

It also features Total Sweetspot Construction for ultimate performance, and NoShox Dampening for reduced vibration and greater comfort. The lightweight construction is enriched with an attractive design and stylish graphics. Liquidmetal technology was developed by the California Institute of Technology, and it adds loads of energy and power to the game of tennis. The secret of Liquidmetal performance is found in its liquid atomic structure that is 2.5 times stronger and delivers 29-percent more power than titanium. Flexpoint technology is breaking the rules of traditional racquet design with two precisely engineered control holes that give the racquet a revolutionary new flexpointhence the racquet name. These two holes, positioned at three and nine oclock on the racquet head, work together to bring power in control. The holes rest in a dimple that is engineered to create flexibility by reducing beam height by a maximum of 25-percent, while the hole increases sectional flexibility by up to 50-percent. With this added flexibility, the racquet has a cupping effect during ball impact. With this, ball dwell time in the racquet is increased and control is maximized. The cupping effect produces unparalleled control with no loss of power. The Total Sweetspot Construction (TSC) delivers ultimate performance through its innovative corrugated structure. It increases torsional stability in the racquet head, thereby increasing the sweetspot. With Heads TSC technology, the entire head of the racquet feel like a sweetspot. NoShox Dampening System consists of a memory foam integrated into the racquet handle that significantly reduces racquet vibrations by more than 27-percent compared to conventional racquets. And with Heads integrated string dampener, this racquet delivers great comfort and perfect sound.

Hello one and all and welcome once again to another edition of The Scottish Beat. I apologize for not updating on Sunday night as advertised in my last post. As you will eventually read, extenuating circumstances prevented my updating until Wednesday of this week. It's been a week since my last update, so I certainly have a lot of typing to do in a short period of time, so I had better get down to business.
Well, last Thursday was pretty decent. We got to sit in on discussions at the main debating chamber of the Scottish Parliament. It was truly astonishing to see. Not many MSPs were there first thing in the morning, but the debate had much more tension and fervor in comparison to American debate. People would laugh out loud and jump up and down at points of contention. We stopped at a gift shop on the way home and purchased some decorations for our room. I got an email from the University of Edinburgh Chamber Choir saying that they could squeeze me in for an audition at 1:00. It was outside of the city. I had to run around to all the bus stops to find the right route. About a half hour later, I found the stop and took a 20 minute ride outside to the director's apartment. I auditioned with some serious competition from all over the world. The chamber choir is the small select choir on campus and I had nothing prepared for auditions. I did really well though. I sightread two pieces and the director asked if I had perfect pitch (which I really do not). I had a huge range that day too, so I sounded all the better. I was so excited when I left, that I just walked 40 minutes to another meeting about my political views with Paddy. He needed the information to place us with our MSP.
I came back and packed for Ireland. We went with our backpacks to the video that night. It was a pretty good lecture followed by the hysterical film, Whisky Galore! The town put a ban on whisky until a ship wrecked on the island with tons of it. Hilarity follows. We left for the airport and hopped on a flight to Ireland. We landed after a 45 minute flight. We walked forever to get to customs and then took a bus to our hostel. We had quite a walk from the drop off point, but it's no big deal. The hostel was ok. The six of us stayed in the same room. We all went out that night to Q1 right on O'Connell Street to hang out. The best part of the night though was our crashing of McDonalds. Fast food is really popular over here and the fast food joints and ten times nicer than the states. We all missed terrible food, so we ate at McDonalds at two in the morning. It was the best meal I've had in a while. The joys of college life. We fell asleep to Brendan telling ghost stories that night.
After a rocky start the next morning *showers were not the nicest and toast was not the most sufficient breakfast*, we all headed out. We visited Trinity college for a while, which was really nice. I couldn't imagine going to school there though. So many tours. We hopped aboard a tour for a while before leaving to go to the National Gallery. Lots of amazing artwork there. There was a painting by Gris that I would love to get a print of. Hopi and Katie met us in Ireland, so we waited for them a while. The group split in half and Scott, Brendan and I went to the Guinness factory. I had a guinness *my first pint*. I poured the thing from the tap myself and drank it all. It was pretty rich, I'm not going to lie. Guinness produces 4 million pints a day, and 2 million of them stay in Ireland. We then went to teh James Joyce Center for a bit and got dinner at a pub. I had a shank of lamb, which was awesome. We listened to a guitar duet for a while before going out to more pubs.
The next day, we got up early and left for Cork. We took a 3 hour train to Cork. The scenery was amazing. Ireland has so many shades of green. We got to Cork around 2 and found our hostel. It was really nice. Brendan and I shared a room with a girl and some guy who we never got to meet. We walked around downtown Cork before grabbing a packed bus to Blarney Castle. In about 20 minutes, we were at the castle. It was one of the best moments of my life. The weather was so great. Not a cloud in the sky. Sights like this make you appreciate life so much more. I kissed the Blarney stone on top of castle which was surreal. It was this luck that got us through the rest of the trip. We also spelunked in some tunnels under the castle. That was soooo neat. We headed back to Cork very happy. I had an amazing burger for dinner that night and then watched rugby for a while.
Sunday was interesting. We woke up and I realized we booked the wrong tickets home. I thought we were leaving Sunday, but our tickets said Monday. After intense freaking out, half of us had to stay. The other half booked their tickets correctly - or so we thought. We took the train to Dublin and bid farewell to half of our group. Geddes, Scott and I found a hostel, which turned out to be amazing. We wandered the city for a while, going to places in the Temple Bar area. I started bleeding profusely from the neck for some odd reason. I still have yet to figure that out, but it bled for a half hour. We saw so much more of Dublin that I stopped worrying about our messed up flight. At ten, we went out for some food and we stopped to watch a side show. This guy had a bike with steering that was backwards. We watched for a while until someone jumps on Geddes. We turn around and two of the members of the other group had come back. They also booked the wrong flights and randomly found us in Dublin. What are the chances. Pure elation is the only word that can describe our feelings. Cody paid 250 euro to fly out sunday night. We all decided it wasn't worth it. We went to the Porterhouse to watch this Irish band. We all went to bed happy.
We met the two other guys the next morning and went to the Dart to take the train to Howth, which is a fishing village on the coast. I bled again at the train station from my neck. That's certainly not a good sign. Maybe my beard to too rough. Who knows? Anyways, we got to Cork and the scenery was lovely. The pictures don't do it justice. We climbed for a bid and explored the area and got some fish and chips, since it's the best around. It was really tasty. We saw sea lions too. That made me happy. We came back to Dublin and messed around a bit before our flight. We were quite happy to leave, but Ireland was truly amazing. What a crazy weekend.
We ate Morgan's food as soon as we returned. Yesterday I had Scottish Politics. That was a pretty boring class. After lunch, I did some research for a presentation I had today. Geddes and I had to talk about gender issues in Scotland. After coming up with our powerpoint and dividing up our presentation, I went to the gym with Adam. We didn't do much, but what we did was killer. I will be feeling that for a long time. I checked the sheet in the music building and saw that I had made the chamber singers. I was so shocked. I get to sing in St. Giles this semester. My first rehearsal is tonight and I'm pumped. Another emotional high for sure. I've really lucked out this trip. I made potato and leek soup for dinner and worked most of the rest of the night. I talked to people online, cause I miss you guys. I got most of my Scottish Politics paper done for Friday though.
This morning I woke up early and did more research before going to class. We gave our presentation today and it went well. I made bagel pizzas for lunch for Scott and I. Quite tasty. Now I finishing this update. We have a museum tour this afternoon. I then have to do homework, make dinner and go to a three hour rehearsal tonight. I'm so stoked.
The top picture is of me kissing the Blarney Stone. The second picture is of me with my first guinness. The final picture is of me on the beaches of Howth. I love that town.
Well, until next time, you've been goobinformed.
