iapos;ve just been thinking about it lately since ellen and kyle are in town.. We go see my parents all the time and when uncle john is actually home we hang out with him some, but since ellen and kyle are here, my grandparents came in town and everyone got together at my uncleapos;s house to eat and hang out and just enjoy spending time with people we dont get to see every day.
to me, this is normal. When family members live in town, you see them sometimes--and if people specifically come in town to see family, you go see them.
apparently, with bobapos;s family this is not so. Bob has an aunt and an uncle and a couple cousins who live in champaign.. And who have lived in champaign at least since bobapos;s been alive. He doesnt even see these people once a year. Heapos;s only met his cousins like four or five times in his entire life. They live in the same town not even the same huge city, but champaign now he also has a half-brother who lives in champaign whom he has never met. This is because bobapos;s dad was a horrible dad and the guy (i forget his name) doesnapos;t want to have anything to do with him. So, that makes sense that bob wouldapos;ve never met him. But his aunt and uncle and cousins and parents and siblings all get along great and when they do occasionally get together, they seem fine-- i couldnapos;t find any elephants sitting in the corner of the room and everyone seemed to genuinely be happy to see eachother and fill eachother in on everything thatapos;s happened since they saw eachother last. Bob really enjoys very few people. But his aunt and uncle, he was really happy to see. So it was really strange to me that, since our wedding, bobapos;s parents have been more frequently spending time with bobapos;s aunt and uncle--the fact that they are is great and thinking that maybe our wedding brought family members closer together is really cool but what i dont understand is that theyapos;ve gone over to the aunt and uncleapos;s house four or five times since our wedding.. A couple times because other cousins have been in from out of town.. But not once did they call bob and say hey weapos;re going to sue and johnapos;s tonight for dinner because so-and-so are in town for the night, would you like to come?? we just hear about it a week later when we happen to stop by because bob needs something out of his parentsapos; garage. Thatapos;s just so absurd to me.. If anyone in my family is ever in town, thereapos;s always an email or something letting everyone know whatapos;s going on and theyapos;re invited. The fact that it has happened more than once or twice just seems to strange to me. I mean i dont even know who these people are that are coming in from out of town, but shouldnapos;t they get to hang out with bob too?
so that i really dont understand, but itapos;s really not a big deal to me, because iapos;ve barely met most of bobapos;s family and he doesnapos;t seem to be upsetabout not being told when the rest of the family is getting together (even though i would be if it were my family). But then about a month ago, bobapos;s sister came in town for their momapos;s birthday. We all (me bob, his momdad, his sister, brother and brotherapos;s girlfriend) went out to dinner and had a lovely time.. Then we went back to his parents house and kind of sat around talking waiting for food to settle so we could have a cake that his sister had been raving on about how she made it.. :) finally we decide to eat cake, but his sister starts going on about how her stomach hurts sooooo bad and she cant eat any cake..etc..etc.. Then she and their brother and his girlfriend rush out the door at like 11pm because she NEEDS him to work on her computer and get it fixed asap because he supposedly broke it. I made the mistake of jokingly asking how he broke it if he was fixing it for her (wouldnapos;t she have had to break it in originally?) and she freaks out and yells at everyone and the three of them leave in a hurry because she NEEDS her computer fixed NOW... Finally bob and i go home and a little later i get a drunken text message from bobapos;s sister. This pisses me off a-because she was bitchin and whinin about how her stomach hurt so she couldnapos;t eat cake..sooo how is your stomach okay enough to drink alcohol? and b-because they ran off in a huff to supposedly fix her computer, not to get drunk? and c-because they ran off to hang out and get drunk at their brotherapos;s apartment with his girlfriend and didnt invite us or even tell us. They lied to us like they lied to their parents. It just seemed so rude to me. Like if ellen and kyle and emma ran off to go party without me and bob i would be incredibly sad. Like why are the sister, the brother and the brotherapos;s girlfriend hanging out and bonding by excluding bob and i? i just dont understand it and i was really offended. Of course bob doesnapos;t care, because he says itapos;s always been like that, but to me thatapos;s no reason to put up with it. Then a couple weeks later, a bunch of fish died in bobapos;s parentsapos; pond and it was apparently a really big deal, but no one told us. Not that i care about dead fish in their pond, but it wouldapos;ve been interesting to see 300 dead fish lying on top of the water. Haha but bobs brother and his girlfriend were apparently there and involved in what was going on. But we were again excluded. I hate being excluded... When it comes to "friends" itapos;s annoying, but i dont expect anything from them because theyapos;re selfish and not actual good friends. But when family does it? that just seems so ridiculous to me. It especially annoys me that bobapos;s little brotherapos;s girlfriend can be involved with everyone but weapos;re not. I mean i dont have anything against her personally, it just frustrates me like sheapos;s better than me or something? sorry, should i have been hiding from the police in bobapos;s bedroom? or be living with bob and using all his money even though we break up 8 times a week anyway? why is she so accepted into their family, and neither me nor bob are?? i just do not understand and itapos;s really frustrating to me.
but ah it feels good to get that all out on paper
long story short, i LOVE my family. I LOVE how they have accepted bob as one of us. I LOVE how they love me. I LOVE that ethan likes bob more than me ;) i LOVE that when people come in town we ALL get together and spend time with eachother, no matter our differences. I LOVE that no one uses the "n word." i LOVE that no one is an alcoholic. I LOVE that my dad wants bobapos;s phone number because "sometimes i need to talk to him, not you." i LOVE that when bob isnapos;t with me, everyone wants to know where he is, and when neither of us are there, everyone wants to know where we both are. I LOVE my family. I guess the frustration i have for other people just makes me appreciate MY people more. So i guess i should be thankful... I just feel sad for bob, because if i was him iapos;d be devastated. But somehow he seems to be doing fine. But then again, he is the strongest person i know.
and a couple unrelated endnotes--
i can totally see how people believe in miracles. The other day my leg started hurting really badly and i couldnapos;t stand up, so i sat down and kept trying to bend my knee but it hurt too badly to even move it. Bob came over and was like whatapos;s wrong?? and just put his hand below my knee right where it was hurting and was like here try to move it again and it was literally perfectly fine. I had been crying because it hurt so bad but then i had to laugh because it didnt hurt at all and it was really strange. So, either i had a leg stroke or something and it only lasted a couple minutes, or bob has magical hands. Iapos;m leaning towards magical hands because he can make anything work without explanation. I dont think heapos;s jesus or anything, but i can definitely see how people were in awe of him.
also.. WTFCUBS???? caleb would be so disappointed in you. Ugh.

Ok, so today i watched someone piece and a death note(i havenapos;t been on the computer in forever). One piece is out of the filler i think, so itapos;s back to being awsome (i got to see zoro all wet with his shirt off to boot ^^) and death note is as suspensful as ever, so thatapos;s all good, and i finally saw the naruto chapter. Does anyone else have a sneaking suspicion naruto is getting close to the end?

so, anyway, there was this flea market thing i was supposed to go to on saturday because the eight grade was taking care of refreshments and the eight grade table, and the funds from that would go towards the graduation fees of everyone who helped( well, i didnapos;t absolutly have to go, but mrs. Galantev might have gotten mad if i didnapos;t anyway), and my friend told me today that she didnapos;t even notice i wasnapos;t there apparently she wasnapos;t really bothering with the eight grade that much. I just hope no one bursts my bubble on this. O yea, i might as well mantion i didnapos;t go to school again today, but i think i will tommorow.

wow, right now iapos;m listening to the japanese band nightmare, and they actually have a song that seems to be based on "rudoph the rednose reindeer" (the name is akahana no tonokai - means reindeer of the red nose, or somehting like that, i imagine...)

ok, so i just had a thought about the name of the anime bleach. Well, anyone who has watched the show knows that the name doesnapos;t really make sense (unless i just havenapos;t gotten far enough for it to make sense). Well, i thought about it, and to me the name breach, which is really close to bleach, makesmore sense. Well, in the japanese language, they donapos;t have our lapos;s (nor do they pronounce rapos;s like us, if you havenapos;t already noticed). Instead, when they want to use an l, they just use their r, which to them is alot like our l. Well, i was thinking, maybe when he made the title, he ended up messing up the romanization of the name, thinking perhaps that the letter l was r for us, not knowing that we have different sounding rapos;s then them, instead thinking that l was our r.

yea, i had a hard time explaining that theory, and i probably just got you real confused. But it could be possible, unless iapos;m just overanilyzing things.

also, you know that twilight series that seems to be the big thing right now? well, from my understanding, itapos;s about vampires and has a love story in it, and when i hear that, i canapos;t help but think vampire knight (i donapos;t watch it, but i kinda know what itapos;s about), i mean, the similarities seem uncanny.....

New girl got a face-up after I did commission face-ups. involved in a bad crash this year. She looked forward to getting it
back just the way it was, but not the way her insurance company wanted
to repair it.The Chicago resident says the company wanted to smash
together the the un-smashed part of her car and the un-smashed part of
another Sebring.I was, like, Oh, my gosh. What the hell is that?m thinking I never in my life heard of such a thing, she said.But
the process is so not unheard of that it has a name, clip job. In
some cases it is used to fix a badly damaged vehicle such as
Jacksons. But a car also can be created out of two
wrecksand sold to an unsuspecting buyer.
Either way, clipping is profitable for insurance companies and body
shopseven as consumer advocates, collision-repair experts and
major automakers warn it is not just a bad idea; it is dangerous.The
downside is you may be driving down the road someday, get hit and be
sitting in the middle of the road because the two halves of the cars
went different directions, said Clarence Ditlow, the executive
director of the Center for Auto Safety.It also negates the crash
choreographing engineered into vehicles today. Some parts are designed
to crumble at precise times and places to absorb energy and keep the
passenger compartment intact. The timing of air-bag deployment also is
carefully calibrated. Clipping ruins that synchronization, experts and
automakers say.The goal of a good body shop is to make a vehicle the
same as when it came from the factory, said Darrell Amberson, director
of the Automotive Service Associations Collision Division. It should
not be stronger or weaker because the vehicle will not perform as
intended, he said.Profit is the reason for clip jobs, say Mark and Pam
Pierson, owners of Princeton Auto Body in Princeton, Ill. For several
years they have been waging a campaign against clipping.Mark Pierson
said it can be cheaper for an insurance company to order a clip job
than to replace a badly damaged vehicle. And Insurance companies
usually have agreements that place the legal responsibility for
repairs on the body shop, he added.It is not really their problem and
they are saving, most likely, thousands of dollars, he said.Clipping
can also be cheaper than buying and assembling a bunch of replacement
parts, said Amberson, who is also president of Lehmans Garage in
Minneapolis.The person that gets the car may not know itbut
maybe they get in a significant collision and the car comes apart, he
said. Getting a handle on the number of clip jobs each year is
difficult. Amberson said he does not see it. I havent had an insurer
to ask me to do it for many, many years, he said. The Piersons,
however, say they still hear about clip jobsor sections of
badly wrecked cars being made available for them. Kenneth Klein, owner
of Consumers Auto Detective business in Elgin, said he hasnt
encountered a lot of clips jobs. But they can be kept quiet by
confidentiality agreements between body shops and insurers, he said.
In addition, most consumers wouldnt know a clip job if they saw one.
Only recently did one of the nations largest automotive insurers,
State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., of Bloomington, come out
against the practice.In a June letter to Pam Pierson, a State Farm
official said clipping has been under review for the last several
months. As a result of this review we have determined that this repair
method is less feasible on newer model vehicles which incorporate
special or alternative metals.It says State Farm officials will no
longer ask a body shop to do a clip job. But, it will pay for the work
if the body shop and customer want it.State Farm claims consultant
George Avery said the companys move away from clip jobs was prompted
by the use of special, high-strength steels to reinforce the passenger
compartment and better protect the occupants. The metals are severely
compromised by heating, say during welding. We were not uncomfortable
with our old position, but we felt going to the next step was
prudent, he said. Avery said he thinks consumers are smart enough to
decide whether to accept a clip job, though major automakers oppose
it. I think they do a lot of research, he said. He also insisted
that by paying for a clip job State Farm was not in conflict with the
safety recommendations of some automakers, thus putting its policy
holders at risk. State Farm has an obligation to repair the vehicle,
and, in this case, is just doing what the customer wants, he said. The
American Insurance Association does not have a single position on
clipping because of the variety of repairs and vehicles, said David F.
Snyder, vice president and assistant general counsel for the American
Insurance Association. Although Jackson did not want her car repaired
using a clip, thats what happened. After some wrangling
including writing to the Illinois Attorney General and the Division of
Insurance and hiring Klein, Jackson said she persuaded her insurance
company to give her money instead of the Sebring. It now sits in a
junkyard, she said. To avoid getting a clip job, Amberson suggest
consumers ask for references before choosing a body shop. Then, ask
how the repair will be carried out. As for buying a used car, consumer
advocates say checking with companies such as Carfax are a good start,
but they have far less information than most consumers think. Any used
car should be carefully inspected by a trustworthy body shop and a
mechanic.

5 Stars Earl Swagger Hunts Again!
I fell in love with Stephen Hunters Earl Swagger novels this year. Luckily I discovered the first one at the beginning and listened to them on audiobook in order. There are three of them so far. HOT SPRINGS, PALE HORSE COMING, and HAVANA.
The Swagger name may sound familiar to people. Mark Wahlberg just starred in the movie SHOOTER as Earls son, Bob Lee Swagger. Stephen Hunter has been intermittently writing novels about father and son over the last few years. Earls adventures are set in the 1940s and 1950s. Bob Lees are more in present-day, and the latest novel in that series, THE 47th SAMURAI, has just been released.
If you havent read any of the Swagger novels, I really recommend reading them in order. Both series tell a story thats more mosaic than anything else. Both are pieces of the other. Hunter began with Bob Lees stories, then told the first of Earls. Obviously the author has become enamored of both his creations. Unfortunately, Earls adventures maybe at an end after HAVANA. Im willing to bet that Im not the only fan that hopes this isnt so. I do know that THE 47th SAMURAI has chapters in it from Earls point of view, and that the plot revolves around choices both Swaggers face.
HAVANA ends up being more spy story than either of the two previous books about Earl Swagger. I think Hunter had a hard time fitting Earl into the plot in some ways. The previous two books hit harder and were more driven by Earls choices. In this book, Earl seems to be reactive more than proactive.
Everything centers around the unrest in Havana in the 1950s. The United States government has a Central Intelligence Agency operation in place on the island and theyre carefully monitoring the political backlash surging against Carlos Batista, who is friendly toward the Americans. As long as Batista is in control, American companies will flourish there. At one time, Havana was referred to as the Disneyland for adults, referring to the gambling, prostitution, drinking, and drugs available.
The New York Mafia has bested interest in the island government as well. Meyer Lansky was there overseeing mob-related business throughout those turbulent years. Hunter uses the mob-influenced history to his advantage throughout the novel. Theres even a mob hitman working for Lansky who is called Frankie Horse after he gunned down a New York policemen and his mount. The mob bosses didnt like the idea that Frankie had killed the horse. As punishment, he was sent down to Havana.
The story takes a little while to get started. Theres a lot of backstory to set up, but its all important to provide a picture of the political and economic climate of Havana during those years. Hunter obviously did his research well and enjoyed the subject matter.
Earl gets called in by the government to write shotgun for a senator while hes down in Havana. Harry Etheridge is a southern congressman with a taste for prostitutes. Earl doesnt really care for the assignment, but hes tempted when those who hire him point out that he could provide a much different future for his young son and wife. Those two people mean everything to Earl, and thats one of the reasons that I enjoy him so much as a character.
Earl is plainspoken and humble, and his world is black and white. He doesnt drink because he knows he cant handle it. When he fights, he gives everything hes got because he knows nothing less will do. Hes one of the most decorated soldiers to ever come out of the Pacific theater in World War II. And he knows what killings all about.
This story is bigger than the previous two Earl Swagger novels. In the earlier books, the plot remained thin and Earl stayed in the spotlight nearly the whole time through. HAVANA offered up a richly textured series of events and characters that at times eclipsed Earl. I missed having him on the pages, but there was so much else going on that caught my attention.
Hunter also obviously fell in love with Speshnev, a Russian soldier that was freed from a Siberian prison camp. Spesnev became something of a political embarrassment to Moscow and was locked away in spite of his service during World War II. The old Russian is a wily and cunning man gifted with great, dark humor. I found myself wishing that Stephen Hunter would write a book about him at some point just so I can see everywhere Speshnev has been and what he has done.
So Stephen, if youre reading this, know that you already have one fan waiting for that book.
The chemistry between Swagger and Speshnev is electric. I spent much of the book fearing the time they would meet over gun barrels. In the beginning, Speshnev saves Earls butt twice, but I knew that they were working at cross purposes and that conflict would at some point need to be resolved.
Hunter also seems to have great fun poking at the CIAs presence in Havana. The intelligence agency seems to be primarily a joke as he shows the emergence of the new agents the kind of fit the preppy model. But Hunter also gives them one of Earls oldest foes in the form of Frenchy Short, who betrayed Earls team in Hot Springs.
After caring for Senator Etheridge, and getting shot up for his trouble, Earl gets pressured by the CIA to become an assassin and kill Fidel Castro. At the same time, the reader knows that Sheshnev has been sent there to educate young Castro and get him ready to take over Cuba as a communist partner.
Although the reader knows that Earl isnt going to kill Castro, a lot of the story still yet remains to play through. Even without the mystery and suspense of how Earl was going to kill Castro, I stayed glued to my radio as the audio book played. I hated getting out at my stops and often found excuses to run errands that couldve waited or go buy a Coke so I could get through a particularly exciting sequence. The problem was that most of the sequences in the book are exciting and is difficult to leave Earl in any one place after the action gets going.
Readers of the previous two books will know that this one has been done differently. Some may not like it because Earl is off screen so much, but if they hang around till after everything is set up, theyll get to see Earl in his element: hunting men and struggling to stay alive under harsh circumstances.
I had a great time with this book. I hate to think that this is the end of it. I would love to see another novel of Earl any time in here. I would especially love to see a war novel recounting Earls adventures in the Pacific. After Earl returns home to his family in Blue Eye, Arkansas, its not long before hes murdered while carrying out his job as an Arkansas State Trooper, though not in this book. And that gives me hope that another novel may yet be in the offing.
If this is all there is, I appreciate all the great stories. Hunter gives his readers a character that is at once real and ideal. There arent many like him, not in real life and not in fiction.

In business jargon - be very ?target orientated? in your quest for golf instructions. Do you want to be better at driving, or do you want to know how a basic golf swing works? Do you want to know exactly what a proper golf swing is or do you just want to generally get better at golf?
In my years of research, here?s what I found gave me an advantage over my buddies. Knowing how to execute a proper golf swing is one thing. Hitting a long golf shot is another. Do this! - Peg your ball at least half a ball higher than the top of the driver when it's flat on the floor. Please purchase two three-quarter inch tees and then train yourself to barely push the peg into the ground. You will then be able to catch your ball on the upswing and raise the height of your shots. This will, in turn, lower the amount of backspin.
2. Don?t chop down on the ball

Some golf instruction says ?pause at the top?. Other golf tuition programs say ?Take a shorter backswing?. These two things don?t add up. Myself and most of my buddies always took a shorter backswing - to be safe rather than sorry. Well I learned that you have to ?ski for fall? in golf in order to increase your swing speed and in turn achieve greater golf shot distance. To hit longer drives, you can't afford to ?hurry love?. The thing that changed it for me was when one online golf lesson told me to imagine at the top of the backswing the shaft of my golf club was a ?clothesline? on which I could hang my washing. One pretty neat way to identify a scam is the following: How did the sell the first license? What would it take to do it?

They dont all have to be different; they just need to be called press releases. Then you approach someone and you tell them youll sell them an advertising packet for their website. You find another victim and do the same, but you give them a rebate if they click on other members ads. You need to appear to have more members, so you fake a few extra sites with the new investment. Then you announce that you are a high-yield investment program, and that you pay comissions for recruiting people. Since the fake websites have no market value, the only reason people will join is for the money. Since the recruits are clicking your ads, the clicks are also worth nothing.
