The South Carolina Junior Golf Association was recently named by Golf Digest as the leading junior golf program in the country.  This is wonderful news to an industry, like many others, that isnt seeing its brightest times.  Golf executives throughout the state are concerned about the levels of play and the economic conditions surrounding the South Carolina golf industry.  It would seem the troubles stem from current economic conditions but there was a recent report about a nationwide decline in golf play.  While the golf try to figure out how to increase play, the news about our state having the best junior golf program is a welcome change to all the glum news.  Its my opinion that the way to correct lack of playing is by spurring on future generations to play the game.  We all know what a great sport it is, so can it be as simple as ensuring there are more future golfers than there are now?  I doubt it but it will certainly help to inspire youngsters today to take up the game.  Not only is the effect of them playing a benefit but with each generation comes new ideas and innovative approaches.  Golf could probably use some young, energetic, out of the box thinking.  I know there are some courses that dont youngsters inside their gate and I think those courses may be numbered if the economic factors along with decreasing play continue.
Congratulations again to the SCJGA and hopefully they can continue to motivate younger folks to play the game.

Max is gone.

Two nights ago I ripped up all of the pictures I carried of him and of us in my wallet, and I begin to describe how good it made me feel. Yeah, Iwas crying when I did it, but once Ipicked up all the photo pieces and threw them in my trash I felt such a heavy weight release from me.

No way do Ineed him in my life, and what satisfaction would Iget by being his friend?He canapos;t treat anyone right unless heapos;s getting something from them.

I really do hope some other girl makes him the happiest, because he deserves anyone but me. He can blame me a million times, and every time I get a different story from him. When I was with him it wasnapos;t like he didnapos;t know I couldnapos;t visit him. When we first started dating it was because my parents wouldnapos;t let me do anything because theyapos;re dumbly strict. When things started getting more "serious" with him, it was because they didnapos;t believe he really cared for me, and guess what, neither did I. It even think Icared for him after some point. Iwanted to do so much for him, and because he didnapos;t bring me into his life until it was too late, I never got the chance. He canapos;t blame me for being afraid or not having courage to do something on my own. Ialways ended up doing whatever Iasked him to do with me (and most of the time he never did whatever I asked for with me), doesnapos;t that prove that I have courage?

I donapos;t even know why Ibother getting aggravated over his accusations of me. He doesnapos;t know me at all. I donapos;t have anything to prove to him, Ireally donapos;t. If someone doesnapos;t have faith or love in you there is nothing you can do about it. You can only see it with an open heart and open eyes. Ireally hope he is gone from my life because Ihave done nothing but cry over him for the last six years.

Iturned down so many chances to be with other, better, guys but Iwas too dumb and stubborn. For whatever reason It want to give them a chance because Ihad to be stuck on the worst thing to happen to me. It wait til Ifinally feel okay about having another relationship and being with a real man. He wonapos;t make me prove things to him and heapos;ll see me for the great girl that Iam and feel lucky about it.

Harris Tweed and the Isle of Harris Sunset

Scotland is only a small country in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. For much of it's history the nation and it's people have been incredibly poor but from this impoverished society some of the most influential people came forth to make their mark upon our world. There are few countries in the world that have not been directly influenced by the hands of the Scottish but few consider this when asked to think of Scotland and most of us would rather bring to mind the likes of Tartan and Harris Tweed.
Though the vast majority consider tartan and Harris Tweed to be fundamentally traditional Scottish nothing could be further from the truth. In actual fact much of what we consider to be traditionally Scottish was a purely Victorian exaggeration (and some say an invention). The famous author Sir Walter Scott and others took elements of the Scottish Highland culture and redesigned it in a more palatable form for the King of England. When Queen Victoria and Albert fell in love with the country more such creations developed to please the Royals and their parties.
Sir Walter Scott stimulated the Royal Family's interest in Scotland who, in turn caused the English upper classes to become interested. During the reign of Queen Victoria Scotland became more accessible through the building of railway lines and it was not long before the upper classes of England began to visit. Indulging in the pursuits of hunting and fishing these early tourists did much to start the Scottish tourist industry.
While virtually all of the Victorian tourists wore Harris Tweed few visited the island which produced it. The Isle of Harris is a remote island in the Outer Hebrides and it was there, in 1844 that, under instruction of the Earl of Dunmore, the local weavers first produced the incredibly hard wearing material. Such were the qualities of the cloth, and the promotional work of Lady Dunmore, that it quickly became the height of fashion.
Hand made from local wool and colored using unique natural dyes there were few other materials that could compete. However it was not to last as cheaper materials became available from abroad. At an early stage the weavers of Harris ensured that only cloth produced in the Outer Hebrides could bear the name "Harris Tweed" and this has meant that the material is still produced today.
It is still incredibly common to see somebody sporting a Harris Tweed Jacket and the material remains popular. Today it is increasingly common to see the cloth used in any number of diverse products ranging from handbags to running shoes from manufacturers such as Nike.
While depopulation continues to be a problem in the Hebrides much has been done to stimulate industry. Today one of the most important industries is the tourist trade which continues to grow year by year and is now a major element in the local economy. Crofting and the weaving of Harris Tweed continue to have a role but, unfortunately, the tweed industry suffered a major set back with the closure of the main mill. While the future of the industry is uncertain it is likely that there will be an enormous effort to regenerate it.
People visit the Isle of Harris and the Outer Hebrides for a great many reasons. Some visit to trace their family roots, others to indulge in sports, some to enjoy the Gaelic culture, some to study the flora and fauna, or the many archaeological sites but most of all people visit to take in the spectacular countryside. Getting to the Isle of Harris is something of a journey by car with the last leg of the trip being a short ferry crossing. However you can get there quickly via regular flights arriving on the adjoining Isle of Lewis.

The 22-year-old struggled to lose weight after the birth, eventually reaching a healthy size 12 after six months by exercising and eating a healthy diet of fish, meat and lots of vegetables.

A number of reasons can cause bad breath. There are common ones like poor oral hygiene, various kinds of alcohol based mouthwashes, and some medicines which can cause bad breath. However, do you know that there are actually some diseases which can aggravate or cause bad breath?

Some internal disorders can lead to bad breath, such as diabetes, liver diseases, chronic sinus infection, gum diseases and problems in the alimentary canal. These disorders can cause bacteria to accumulate in the mouth and throat, which can cause the foul odor that we typically call bad breath.

Identifying your own bad breath can be tricky. Usually, other people notice it before you do, and needless to say, this can be quite embarrassing. In order to tell if you do have bad breath, try to notice if there is a bitter taste in your mouth. You can also lick your wrist and smell it, just as if you were trying on a new perfume. Or simply exhale into your cupped hand and smell your hand. If you do have bad breath, you will easily notice a nasty smell by doing any of these tests.

There are solutions to every problem and bad breath has its share of solutions. Your doctor can prescribe some medication for you. You can try Halitonic, which is an herbal remedy for bad breath. Or you can use a diluted mixture of 50% water and 50% hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse, instead of your usual mouth wash. This will help get rid of bacteria in the mouth. A common household ingredient, baking soda, will also help in getting rid of bacteria and it is now added to some toothpastes as well.

Also, there are a variety of other health tips that are recommended for the reduction and elimination of bad breath. For one, it is better if you do not smoke. This will decrease your chance of having bad breath for sure. Also, if you have regular dental check-ups, it will help rule out any other possibilities of worse complications such as gum disease, and to help correct any overhanging fillings or leaking crowns (food can get caught in these).

You may notice that some people chew gum to prevent bad breath. This practice actually has a scientific explanation. When you chew gum, saliva flows more freely in the mouth. This increased flow helps decrease the risk of bad breath. Some gums and breath strips, besides keeping the saliva flowing, can also clean out the insides of your digestive tract.

If you are going on a date, you may want to consider avoiding foods with strong aftertaste such as foods with onion or garlic. Furthermore, you will want to refrain from alcohol and caffeine whenever possible-at least on a first date. It is not that you should be paranoid about your bad breath, but that you should think about how it affects other people. Sometimes people have bad breath without even knowing it.
